WPATH Assessment
Awareness Psychology Clinic is proudly supporting the trans, gender diverse and non-binary community by providing WPATH assessment and letters for patients (18 and over) who are seeking gender affirming Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and gender affirming surgery. As members of the LGBTIQA+ community ourselves, we believe that this is important work for our community to be involved in and support.

WPATH assessment normally takes between 4-6 sessions, depending on the complexity of your situation. There may also be an option to continue with treatment with your psychologist after the assessment is finished so that you can be supported with your mental health if needed.
If you would like to begin the process of a WPATH assessment, please phone the clinic on 0413 577 612 before booking online so that we can match you with a psychologist who will be able to offer you regular assessment sessions. If you are interested in more information about the process of gender affirming HRT or surgery, please feel free to contact us. |
Please note that we are only able to provide WPATH assessments for patients who are over 18. If you are aged 14-17 there may be more appropriate services (such as the Royal Children's Hospital Gender Service), however we are more than happy to assist you with other aspects of transition such as social transition, talking to parents or family, and coping with dysphoria. We are not the right service for those aged below 14 who are seeking assistance with gender issues and we recommend seeking the support of a specialist child psychologist. |
