Awareness Psychology Clinic proudly provides WPATH assessments and letters for patients (18 and over) who are seeking gender affirming Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and Gender Affirming Surgery (GAS).
The guidelines for WPATH assessment are set by the World Professional Association for Trans Health (WPATH), which have been adopted by the Australian Professional Association for Trans Health (AUSPATH).
WPATH assessments normally take between 4-6 sessions, depending on the complexity of your situation. In some cases it may be necessary for you to see other specialists (such as GP, endocrinologist, psychiatrist, etc) as part of the assessment process.
WPATH assessments do NOT determine what your gender is or is not. They are comprehensive diagnostic assessments that focus on helping you to make sure the next step of your transition journey is beneficial and to ensure that you are equipped to make an informed choice for your treatment.
We provide WPATH assessments for patients who are over 18 only. We are not the right service for those aged below 18 who are seeking assistance with gender issues.
